I have always loved bodybuilding, from as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always running to and fro, climbing, riding, swimming; any activity was good activity as far as I was concerned. My father, also into exercising, was a great inspiration to me, especially after he sustained two strokes and an automobile accident. He proved the doctors wrong. Nowadays, unless you knew his medical history, you would never know he had been paralyzed even for a moment.
I love how bodybuilding allows one to reshape the body, but what I love more is the higher level of functionality that comes along with good health and toned muscles. The strength and power in the body's movements when it is in peak form is a rush! A strong spine, legs, arms, trunk, etc...all these components contribute to a decreased risk of injury and may lead to longer functionality. This is something I truly want for myself.
As an added bonus, I love knowing that my husband has something nice to come home to after the day is done.
