I was the "fat girl" all throughout my grade school years -- got picked on a lot, never a cool kid. To be honest, I wouldn't change it for the world because it taught me compassion and I know now how others feel when they are labeled as less of a person for whatever reason. During that time in my life, I became a Christian which was a huge turning point for me and changed my outlook on life. I also picked up the guitar and started writing songs, starting off my music career and eventual move to Nashville.
When I moved to Nashville, I decided that in order to "make it" I would have to lose about 20 pounds. So, I ate vegetables only and ran. A LOT. I basically turned into a stick figure and remained that way (anorexic) eating about 700 calories a day, if that. This lasted about six years, until I discovered Dr. Layne Norton's videos on YouTube about IIFYM and reverse dieting. I was too scared to increase calories, so I counted macros for a year, eating 700-900 calories and going to the gym. Didn't see a ton of progress because I wasn't eating enough.
I finally decided to increase calories through a reverse diet and document all my data (macro increases/weight/BF%) on a blog I created for the purpose called TheMacroExperiment.com. So I did. That was about 2 years ago. Blogging has turned into a HUGE passion for me. I am hoping to compete in bikini eventually, documenting my progress on my YouTube, instagram, and blog. Layne is coaching me now, which has been the best thing for my physique and strength.
I also enjoy writing fitness parody songs and fun macro-friendly recipes which you can find here:

Is it crazy to say that the highlight of my day is lifting? :P Some might think so. I LOVE getting stronger and watching my body transform over time with hard work and dedication. It's just so cool how God created the human body. I just want to continue to progress and even more importantly, help others along the way!
