When I was 11 years old I was in a car accident that shattered my ankle. I spent my entire summer vacation in crutches. Needless to say, rather than having a summer full of activities such as swimming and running around like any 11 year old kid should, I was confined to a couch with a Nintendo 64 within arms reach. I got really good at video games... and eating chips with a soda to wash em down. I became a fat-boy and my school mates made sure I knew that when we all saw each other after the summer was over. So I spent that entire school year being fat. Although there was some slight teasing, what really bothered me was my lack of athletic ability. The same kids I would burn on the track were running circles around me on the basketball court.
The following summer I joined a swim team and got in amazing shape. Swim team was followed by water polo, water polo followed by running, and running by High school wrestling. I was Shredded. Would walk around at 180 lbs and would lean out to 171 lbs with 4% bodyfat for the wrestling season. Being able to achieve that type of physique when 3 years prior I was a fat boy was the best feeling in the world. I've been hooked since then.
I love working out. I love sweating. I love the veins bulging out of my biceps on arm day. I love waking up to "Morning Abs" after a deep nights sleep. I love tearing my shirt off by the pool on a Scorching summer day. I love wearing the " Perfect pair of Jeans". I love the fact that it's you against you. No one else to blame for your love handles. No one else to blame for your small biceps.
