Well,I started lifting weights because i wanted a challenge other than running marathons and to be quite honest, i wanted to see if my body could esthetically change from just ok to a more of an athletic, lean build, with curves. I always aspired to have that lean strong feminine muscular build like you find on most bodybuilding mags but just didn't quite understand how to get it. . i wasn't knowledgeable on how these women did it. i figured running was all i needed to obtain that look so i just kept running. I was slightly overweight, and flabby and i couldn't understand what I was i doing wrong. i was working so hard running day after day and still i couldn't see definition anywhere on my body. Running got me nowhere near my esthetic goals. so I eventually tried yoga, pilates, boxing and still my body wasn't lean and muscular like how i wanted. so finally i did the research. i kept reading and reading on how these women did it. from nutrition to strength training to high intensity training. so i acquired all the tools that they used to get me where i wanted to be. i threw myself into the gym and started strength training like my life depended on it. i trained with weights 4-5 times a week , added sprints to my off days and kept a journal of my daily food intake and my body responded like crazy. I was completely floored at the differences the bodybuilder " look" and most importantly, the diet was from marathon training than i could ever imagine and ever since, I've been hooked. now a days I train like a pro builder. Much the opposite when i used to run. when I'm at the gym and women ask how to get the look..i simple tell them to train as heavy as they can and progressively go heavier week to week. Do complex exercises , and keep a journal of what they are eating and how much and to really read on good nutrition if they really want to see gainsââ¬Â¦.that's my story. ;
