I always played some sports through school, I stopped playing in my VCE years at High school then just got lazy after graduating. I was always on and off gym at Fernwood. I built up my fitness gradually then in 2010, I started my Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness at the Australian Institute of Fitness. I completed my course, but didnt end up working in the industry. 2 years later, last August in 2012, I left fernwood and joined a mixed gym 5 mins down the road from me. I'd never been to a mixed gym and was pretty intimadated at first by the weights room and the blokes in it, I would do about a 30 - 45 min session and I stayed in the cardio room. Eventually I built up some confidence and started using machines and some free weights. then I hired a personal trainer who helped me out a lot and wrote me up a 5 day program. Since then I've started my Diploma in Fitness and am now working at that gym, I still have a long way to go! But Im really excited to see where Im at a year from now!
I love working out because it makes me feel good about myself! I love starting my day off or ending with a good workout! even if its a crap one I always feel better for doing it anyway. I like that its always challenging me too, I'm working towards my goal of been able to do muscle ups. I think thats what it mostly comes down to, that I like to challenge myself and try new things and see my body changing! My day feels off if I dont at least do some kind of exercise or workout! I love doing fun runs and entering events! Im doing tough mudder this year and am now looking at competing in figure! Like I said I have a long way to go to get to that goal! But I love that Im working towards it!
