My life in fitness began with a minor health scare. The day after my 26th birthday, I had a doctor's appointment. (Yeah, I know...who the hell goes to the doctor the day after her birthday)! I went in for my annual physical and two days later my doctor called me back and informed me that I had high cholesterol. That scared me straight! I decided it was time to take my health more seriously. I was already working out, but my diet was crap. I used to drink 20oz. of soda before AND after I left karate class or the gym. But after my health scare, I decided it was time to get it together. I hooked up with a trainer at the YMCA and she got me on my way! I cut out soda and flavored coffees from the diet to start and added in all the complex carbs, lean meats, and LOTS of veggies! Immediately I started to see pounds drop, energy increase and happiness. As of today, I am 70 pounds lighter, and I still have a ways to go, especially now that I have gotten interested in figure competition and bodybuilding. I am loving it when I see the definition in my muscles and others are loving it too! I hope that WHEN I make it famous, people will see my story as inspiration to change their lives.
