I got started into lifting after boot camp for the Air force. I came into the air force barely making the weight. I was 125lbs soaking wet standing at 5'9. After seeing how most other guys in the military were I felt like I wasnât fitting the image. So I started lifting here and there working on my "beach muscles" without really focusing much on dieting at the time. I seen very little gains at first. I met the right people at my first duty assignment and began using protein and mass gainers and eating more and more as time progressed. I probably gained a good 10lbs my first assignment. Nothing too impressive. After 15 months I was sent to Turkey where it was there that I met a group of guys that were all into fitness. I was like a sponge and soaked in a lot of information about dieting, resting, etc. I went from 145 - 165 lbs during my 15 month Tour there. Now that I am in san Antonio I became a personal trainer and have taken off even more with fitness. I currently am 179lbs (Aug 2012)
I love bodybuilding/working out because it for one makes me happy. Along with mentally, it physically has me in the best shape of my life. It takes a lot of discipline to get that extra rep, or to even stay for another 20 mins to finish the workout. Working out/bodybuilding has also helped me stay more determined/focused in other areas of my life.
