I did not start working out until college when I made the Purdue crew team my junior year. Over the past 20 years, I have fallen in and out of shape but have made some great accomplishments along the way ... completed full Ironman, ran a marathon and did a couple years of racing road bikes and cyclocross. Early 2014 I had a cycling injury which forced me to stop biking. Over the past couple years, I have been playing around with lifting weights and decided a couple weeks ago (March 2015) to get more serious about it. I have also suffered with lower back issues my whole life - degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome and bulging/herniated discs. My goal is to transform my body to be in the best physical shape as possible by next February when I turn 45 years old and also gain overall strength to eliminate or minimize my ongoing back issues.
