I was always very fit in highschool but had an obsession with "outdoing the boys." I always wanted to lift heavier or run faster (I was a bit of a tomboy then). I had a trainer who had competed in many competitions who took me right under his belt.
Then college hit...took a couple years off of working out like crazy and lost everything I had worked my A** off to get.
Now I am back and want to compete :)
Many reasons...It makes me feel great everyday. I can see inches coming off and muscle building. You only get one body and I believe that it should be treated well! I also believe the body should be pushed to its limit. I love to see the transformations...
I also suffer from an auto-immune disorder called Pulmonary Sarcoidosis (recently diagnosed) and have had many people tell me that I will have a hard time competing and exercising. I am going to prove them wrong :)
