I got started back in 2011 because I just got sick of feeling uncomfortable with my health and body. I had been told at 21 that my cholesterol was extremely bad and I would be put on daily medication if i didn't change my habits. I had also struggled with my hereditary Endometriosis I was diagnosed with at 18. My family medical history made me feel like I was doomed to be sick and overweight for the rest of my life, and I definitely did not want that future. At that point, I had my wedding to look forward to and I really wanted to look amazing. So I started with a trainer. Before I new it, I had lost 25lbs and had to have my wedding dress brought in a few sizes! Did I mention my cholesterol was at a healthy level AND the symptoms of my Endometriosis had decreased drastically. I felt amazing!
After my wedding I tried to keep it up, but finances became a problem. Eventually, I had to drop my personal trainer and found myself lost and confused... and a few months later back to where I started. That's when I decided that I needed to learn how to stay fit and healthy myself so that I never had to rely on someone else for my success. Along with my husband, I am embarking on a new fit chapter in my life. This time, I'm doing it for myself.
I have always enjoyed being active. From the time I was 3 and into my college years, I was a dancer with a very strict schedule. I picked up weight lifting later in my college years and found a lot of satisfaction in it! I enjoy pushing myself to the limit to see just how far my body can take me. Though I have struggled with my confidence, weight lifting and body building has given me the drive to strive for the body and health I never thought I could have! I've still got a ways to go, but I know that it's possible.
