After developing pelvic problems from pregnancy and then being diagnosed with fibromyalgia I had piled the weight on, I went from a skinny size 8(uk) to a 18(uk) and weighed over 205lbs. I had the wake up call when in dec 2011 I was told I had severe gallstones and needed surgery. When the surgery dates arrived it scared me that my kids might end up without a mum because I couldn't stop eating rubbish, so I started eating clean and joined a gym in march 2012. May 1st 2012 I had my surgery and six weeks later I returned to the gym and stepped up the training and lifting weights.
Fibromyalgia leaves me with constant pain throughout my body and disabling fatigue. Since I started working out I found my energy levels have improved and I'm feeling a lot more like the old me. It's not a cure, but it's an improvement on sitting and rotting away as a disabled statistic. I'm hoping to one day get to a point I can help people with similar conditions to myself get fit and healthy too.
