I had been up and down with my weight all through my 20s. I was quite active through cycling, football and walking but like a lot of lads that age my diet was terrible with a good mixture of booze and junk food and eating just as bad at home.
Near the end of 2010 I got a job at a desk and most of my active hobbies went out the window around the same time also, my diet had improved but along with terrible portion control and week/months where healthy eating went out the window I rocketed up to I think about 18st 5lbs and that was breaking point, almost having to buy 40 inch waist jeans was the end of it.
I decided a few months before Christmas 2011 that at the turn of the year I was going to kick things into gear but in the few months left leading up to that I would start to eat much better and exercise a few times a week so that January did come as too much of a shock to me physically and mentally, and in the better photos I have posted I had shed about 7lbs or so.
Thats pretty much how it began for me and 2012 saw me shed around 3st 9lbs through exercising at home to GSP Rush Fit and P90x and good old running. Plus fight the one remaining demon in me which is portion control.
2013 is off to a great start and im now a gym member and fully focused to complete my main fat loss goal by the summer.
Makes me happy...
I can't really think of a better line to write because it is simply that.
I feel so much better about myself since starting to look after my body properly.
I love trying out different programs and exercises to keep me entertained, not that I will ever go back to not exercising now but its good to have variety and new challenges to keep you motivated.
Not just the exercise though the FOOD! loving cooking and love learning about new healthier options to some of my favourite dishes.
But it all comes down to being happy and living a longer and healthier life with my family.
