I started with P90X in November of 2008 and I realized I needed group and one-on-one training. Since then I've had personal trainers, continue to workout at my local Gyms, LIfeTime Fitness (both Tempe and Gilbert locations), invested & continue to use various DVD workouts at home (Joyce Vedral, Julien Michael's, Insanity). I am now about to purchase T25 (NEVER GIVING UP!!!). It's finally sunk-in that I've had to totally re-evaluate my workouts and make the main focus weight training. I was one of those cardio queens. Love to dance, love group classes, love the eliptical but not a fan of running. Now through experience, research and Bobybuilding.com articles, I know that if I want to change the physiology of my body then I must lead with weight trining (& heavy weigth training at that). So this year, I'm following the beautiful, fit and smart Ms. Jamie Eason's LiveFit 12 week program.
The true area that needed total revamping and crushing of old habits (stronghold's) is my Nutrition. I always zoned in on my workouts and it has taken me years to understand and grasp what clean eating is. Even after continously gaining a better understanding of what it is, there's the strength and determination needed to change the way I eat to incorporate the new found clean eating knowledge. Even with knowledge, it is useless if not applied. For me the application is harder then it sounds. I tell you this journey is full of realizations and the latest one was me realizing that I needed the strength of God through Jesus Christ to help me to formally transform my body. I understand now that I can't finish this on my own. As the years dictate, I'm good at starting, might even reach a goal or two but I haven't been consistent in the forward motions. I go up and come down, year after year. Never really letting go of my strongholds (sweets, chocolate, french fries, etc...).
I'm in the process now of learning how to truly find, cook and select clean eating options and alternatives to the junk that I used to eat. I have to drill in my thought process that 80% of all my fitness efforts is based on my eating 1st and then my workouts. God Guide Me! :)
I've always loved working out. Prior to LifeTime Fitness, I originally signed up and have been a member of Bally's Total fitness since 1992. I'm still a member. Before that I went to Creative and Performing Arts HS and minored in Dance. I LOVE to Dance and have great stamina. I am still in the process of fine tuning my knowledge on building a hard body, which totaly involves understanding how the body processed food for energy and adversly what junk does in your system.
