In February 2013 I was essentially a fat kid without knowing it lol. That's the truth. I weighed 194lbs- but I didn't look that big. I soon lost 10lbs and went down to 184lbs. At the time I was in the USAF and while I could do pushups, situps, and blaze my run- my waist was too big. In the end I failed my fitness test. The military gave me 3 months to fix the problem (my weight) and a friend introduced me to the 90 Day Challenge by Body by Vi and I decided to give it a try. Overnight I changed my eating habits, began working with a personal trainer and I went from 184 to 170, to 166. Oh, and I passed my fitness test :).
After that, the rest is history. I fell in love with the gym, with fitness, and the mindset. While I had a reason to lose weight it wasn't a phase or temporary fix, it really became a lifestyle for me. I'm not where I want to be (yet) but I am definitely busting my butt trying to get there lol. I want to look a certain way and I feel like we all owe it to ourselves to take care of our bodies and accomplish our goals :).
Why do I love bodybuilding? Oh man lol. For me it's just the sense of accomplishment I get after I've done an intense workout and I love the challenge and pushing my limits. I can be severely hard on myself, so sometimes I still wonder "Did I do enough? Could I have gone harder?" but overall I always push myself and I try to cross new boundaries. Fitness is what showed me just how strong we can be, and how much our bodies can endure. And seeing the change from where I was when I first started in 2013 to now, it's pretty cool :). It's not easy, but it's certainly not impossible and that's my motivation.
