I've always kept myself in "good" shape, for the most part. I start working out then stop for a period of time then start again. Since I am now in Afghanistan, I have all the time in the world to get the body I've always wanted. I'm motivated and ready to get lean!
Working out makes me feel good about myself and makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something for me. Being in the military my body and mind are always being pushed to the limits. Staying healthy and fit helps me to stay focused on my missions instead of worrying about falling behind or not being able to accomplish them. It also makes time go by faster and is a great stress reliever when I'm deployed. As a family man it keeps my energy level up and I am rarely, if ever too fatigued to play with my kids, who also give me a workout. Itâs also setting an example for my kids.
