I started long distance cycling a few years ago to get rid of my teenage beer/munchies gut. The more I consumed myself in cycling, I felt uncomfortable with the lack of time I spent on other body parts. I started hitting the gym on a regular basis to achieve lean muscle. I had no intention of desiring gains, or wanting to get big until my veins started naturally popping out and my muscles started to grow. I became excited to push myself and see how far I could take it. I started the years strong with hitting the gym 5-6 days a week, and 9 months later, I still keep that schedule.
I believe that life is best when we are constantly achieving more. I don't like the feeling of wasting time. I also get passionate about my diet and don't like the affects of alcohol on the body. All these qualities are beneficial in lifting. I love that the lifestyle comes naturally to me. Now, I am not saying I have not lost the battle to food or a cold beer in the past, but I learn from the decisions. I know that when the taste wares away, and the buzz is gone.. My goals are still there waiting for my love and attention. Lastly I have to bring my spirituality into the mix. I get my strength and courage from God. He has been there for me, and helped me through some really nasty times in life. I keep my faith strong and He usually takes care of the rest. God Bless, and Humble Gains
