After I was married in 1997, I was watching the Body For Life video starring Bill Phillips and EAS's Grand Spokesperson Championship Competition that a friend gave me to watch. That got me fueled and motivated to begin working out more than just a few times a year. I've been off and on over the years, but as of this writing in 2013, I'm almost 40 and my health is becoming more of a matter of I MUST do this, than just a casual desire.
I love working out my body. It's so fulfilling afterwords, especially when I've pushed myself a little. It's a time when I love to get alone and put my mind in a certain place and just focus on what I'm doing, clear my thoughts, and even develop some goals. I love to work out while listening to a great sermon by J.D. Greear or Vance Pitman. Oddly enough, listening to powerful preaching is motivation during my work out, as I learn more about how God loves me and how I can allow His love for me to overflow into my relationships with others. With a wife and four children at home, there's not much quiet time for me, so my workout at the gym is a time a treasure for myself.
