I first started working out as a kid on my mom's exercise pulley contraption (don't know what to call it, looks like they died out). I've always wanted to be stronger, faster, more fitter in general. I dabbled around in bodyweight exercises and yoga back in high school but only trained in random short spurts due to school, life, and laziness in general.
In 2012 I decided to get serious about my health and fitness, changed my diet, invested in a multipurpose bench, dumbbells, and supplements, and started working out. I experienced a good gain in weight and some strength. Sadly, due to pressing life circumstances I had to stop for nearly a year but now I'm back and more motivated than ever. My strength has outgrown my sparse home gym and I'm now at a commercial gym experiencing strength gains and looking fitter than ever.
* Knowing that I'm improving the quality of my life each time I hit the gym
* Seeing my strength go up / warming up with weights that were once my maxes :)
* Learning how to maintain and improve my body through simple, yet effective means
