Hey there! I'm Jen, I'm currently a hair stylist, mom of 2 beautiful boys, and the loving wife of my husband of nearly 10 years. My amazing husband is a US Marine and has always been my support system. Together we push each other to do our best and also to reach out to support others.
I've always been an active person, playing sports in school and keeping busy as an adult. Pregnancies were tough on me, as I was not allowed to workout after 4 months, because it would spike my blood pressure and cause me to faint. I would go on walks around my neighborhood but I definitely missed my active lifestyle. After the delivery of my second son, I was at my heaviest weight ever. I was itching to hit the gym but recovery from my c-section delivery would require 8 wks of rest. Around wk 6 I began easing back into cardio, and jogging. I was keeping my nutrition on track with protein shakes and somewhat "clean eating." Within a few weeks I began doing the Insanity workout at home. I finished the 9 wk program and started a P90X/Insanity hybrid for a few weeks. I took about a month off lifting for a surgery but kept up with some cardio. I had lost a total of 32 lbs in just under 5 months, I dropped 2 jean sizes and felt great.
The obesity epidemic that our society faces, drives me to reach out to people to help them achieve a healthier and happier lifestyle. I hope to be a living example as well as an inspiration to others.
