I use to be huge into fitness when I was in the military, but one of my several deployments changed my life forever. I sustained shrapnel to my hip, back and suffered from Patella Femoral Pain Syndrome in my right knee. I also broke several bones in my pelvic region, making it completely impossible at the time to continue with service and working out.
I got depressed and started putting on the weight. Even though I am a healthcare professional and saw first hand what excess weight does to a persons health, I didn't control myself, so I found myself to be 200 pounds and growing.
This is when I said enough......
On April 1, 2015 I decided to make a change. I knew it would hurt like hell but it had to be done. I refuse to look in the mirror every morning and cry because of my weight, when I am the one that put myself there, so no more excuses!
