I got started working in January 2013 when I realized I was about 225 lbs and was unhappy with the way I looked and felt. Many of my clothes were getting tight, and my button down shirts would gap when I would sit down exposing my undershirt. I also have a young son and growing up with an obese father I knew that I didn't want to set the same heath and fitness examples. I wanted to be able to keep up with him and be able to play an active role in sports and activities with him.
I enjoy working out because it is my time to focus on me. It doesn't matter what else has happened in the day good or bad I can take it out in my workout. If I am stressed or angry I can focus on my workout and release the energy. Also it is nice to be able to see the results of the hard work either through stepping on the scale, looking in the mirror, or just in the way clothes fit better.
