While attending MOS School for the Marine Corps in North Carolina during Winter of 1999, I started casually messing around with the weights...the rest is history.
Why I Love it
It keeps me focused, driven, and provides me with a personal goal and challenge. The challenge and goal to constantly improve; to get better and stronger. It challenges me to learn about my body, what works and what doesn't work best. I started competing in powerlifting in 2008. At the meets, it's great sportsmanship and camaraderie. If you fail, you get back up. I think working out seriously helps build character and determination as well.
