I was 430 pounds when I got sick and tired of being miserable with being so morbidly obese. I decided one day, June 14th 2008 that I needed to get out and walk daily, and I did just that for 6 weeks. By that time, I was walking 2 miles twice a day when I joined a gym. I took off 150 pounds by myself with some tips from others and research and also learned a lot of error along the way (but who doesn't?). Starting training with my first trainer March 1st, 2009, but my second trainer trained me ATHLETICALLY! We did cardio kickboxing, circuit training, core stability lifting, VERY heavy lifting, and plyometrics. I went from very little mobility, not able to put on or tie my own shoes to jumping on and over things in all kinds of directions, doing HIIT, jogging and running for distance, and moving my body in so many ways I never could before I became obese! I am now in the process of studying to become a NSCA certified trainer and go on to become an exercise physiologist.
I love knowing that what I am doing is good for my body, even if I don't see immediate results. I love the rush exercise gives me. I love being stronger as time goes along. I love motivating people. I have impacted others by what I have done, and had no idea I would be used in such a way (nationally!) when I started out!
