I have always been active in various sports from soccer to Taekwondo and swimming, but I fell in love with gymnastics and stuck with that through most of my youth and then high school. I joined cheer-leading in high school to stay active and still implement my gymnastics background. In college, I started as a history major, because my dream job at the time was to be Indiana Jones, but I was not able to sit still through all the countless hours of reading. I decided to change my major 2.5 years into college to Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. That way I could still do something I loved for a career, and I could stay active and healthy at the same time! I started lifting in high school, got more serious about it in college, then when I was about 25 decided I really wanted to compete**Update** It has been 4 years since I have stepped on stage and I have never been more happier or confident in myself. Now I work out to fit, healthy, functional, and the rest is a perk!
I love feeling powerful and strong! I train Marines in combat fitness, and there is nothing more satisfying than being able to not only do the same exercises along side them, but hold my own and even beat them at a lot of their requirements, I do not only work out to look a certain way, that is a PERK :). I work out the BE an athlete, strong, powerful, agile and functional.
