I have always loved sports and everything that is connected to it. I played handball for over 10 years until I I got âcompartment syndromeâ in my left thigh and could not walk for many weeks let alone train. I took this as a sign that is was time for me to leave the sport (it is insanely aggressive!) and focus on something else. I started working out at my local gym (World Class Iceland), I attended spin and hot yoga classes and did cardio workouts. I did do some heavy lifting but honestly I did not know what the hell I was doing until I got myself a personal trainer.
I was always interested in competing in the bikini fitness category but to shy to admit it and go after it Finally I was determined to go trough with it and with great help and motivation from my best friend I placed 3rd in my first competition (Nov 2012).
I did not anticipate the emotional stress that followed this whole process. Now when I think back I realize that I could have prepared myself better emotionally, I but to much pressure and focus on the physical part. But this is how you learn! :D
IFBB Icelandic Cup bikini fitness 2013; 3rd place
Arnold Classic Europe 2013: 5th place
IFBB Icelandic Cup bikini fitness 2012: 3rd place
Overall Iâm focusing on having fun with what I am doing and to learn as much as I can from this whole experience!
