I've been training literally ever since I was a kid... I remember doing sit-ups and push-ups as long as i can remember even though I never played competitive sports! I spent all of my youth and young adulthood playing and teaching music.. I play 4 instruments, so in between gigs, lessons, school and work, in the little bit of free time I had, I used it to run a strict 4 miles a day and hit the gym 3 days a week. ... and that's basically how i got "started" ...
i ALWAYS felt like i was missing something though... i never knew how to get my body to the next level...
i hired my first coach (Bill Murphy, Woburn, MA) when i was 29 and it's been sky's the limit ever since!
Working out balances my head space and my life. But competing in particular, creates tangible goals that i can achieve that are not within a "comfortable" reach. i thrive off that kind of craziness and i LOVE pushing myself into areas that i, at one time, never thought were possible.
