Before my final semester of college I went into the doctors for my yearly physical. I stepped on the scale and it said 197 pounds! I knew I had gained a little wait but standing only 5'9" I was for the first time in my life overweight. I felt terrible about myself, those skinny man abs I had in high school were gone and the only thing I could see was that it is all down hill from here. I knew I had to make a change. The first week of my final semester I was all in, low carb diet and working out hard every day, no plans just going hard. My diet lasted about a week and my workouts about 2 weeks. I burned out quickly and saw almost no results. I realized that I could not do extremes right away, I needed to make slight modifications to both. I started a moderated diet with lower carb levels and got on a consistent workout plan with a checklist for each day. I am now 3 months in and going strong and have lost 16 pounds and probably close to 5% body fat. My abs are coming back in and they are no longer skinny man abs. With 2 and a half weeks until I get married my motivation is high. I plan on depleting carbs further and upping my workouts to 6 days a week. I hope to reach my goals by the wedding of 176 and 8% body fat but if I push hard and still don't make it, I will still be better than today. Time to go hard and never stop, live healthy.
