I started taking health and fitness seriously after having my second child in 2011. It began with seeing a picture of myself and feeling absolutely vulnerable. Not only was I overweight, I had lost sight of my own sense of being.
Being only less than 5'1, I had topped the scale at 215lbs (my largest). I could never maintain balance as I felt that I was only grazing the surface of the problem. It was more than the weight, it was about me, who I needed to discover, and to finally confront my own demons.
It began with a simple belief that I could survive - not just the challenges and journey I was about to endure, but to live life at my fullest content - no matter where I stood in life, I should always be happy and abundant.
I faced so much fear and emotions, experienced so much pain, sacrifice and success since losing the weight - I am new person...the person that was waiting to be discovered.
FItness is my savior. You learn so much about yourself, and it helps you realize your potential. Lifting is my therapy, and I always make sure I leave it all in the gym and give it my best.
Now as a bikini competitor, I have a goal to obtain: that is to always beat my own progress and to achieve balance during my off season.
