Well, I use to be super fat, non-active, and a complete nerd. I still am... a complete nerd that is. When I was 13 I started high school weighing 140 lbs at 5'1. My mom encouraged me to try out for sports so I gave volleyball a try and let me tell you, I loved it! I could feel myself getting into shape and achieving a healthy body, although I didn't at the time understand the importance of eating a well-balanced diet. I thought the secret to health (like most other teenage girls) was not eating at all. Unfortunately, I suffered and injury during softball so I had to sit out the rest of the year. I was depressed and felt myself starting to gain weight once again. The summer going into my 10th grade year, my family and I moved to another state. I was new, didn't know anyone but I tried out for softball anyway. Once again I starved myself and lost weight but quickly gained it back after season. It was not until this past year, my senior year of high school, that I decided to make a serious change. During my last softball season this fall, I lost around 15 pounds playing softball and then not eating anything at all. I looked thin just like the girls in the magazines but I wasn't really healthy and my energy levels exemplified my bad habits. As winter went by, I gained most of the weight I had lost back, though, I was still skinny as heck. One day early February 2014, I looked in the mirror and truly wasn't happy with what I saw. So I talked to my aunt in California who is a bikini competitor. With her help I decided to get a gym membership and my journey began.
