The first time I actually started lifting/working out was in March of 2000. I stuck with it until about October of that year when I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I never really got 100% back on a lifting schedule after that. I would dabble and start, only to get derailed by the stresses of life. However, I always continued learning everything I could about weight training and being fit. I would grab up Oxygen and Muscle&Fitness regularly. Now I've made a commitment and I refuse to let anything or anyone discourage me. Bodybuilding.com is a great motivator and helps keep me focused on my goals. Follow my IG christynjared
I'm definitely not what you would call a cardio queen. I purchased a Concept2 rower in 2008 and I'm sad to say it hasn't had enough use. It is definitely my favorite for cardio tho. I have friends that love marathons and so I thought I would try that but I completed a 5k last year and it's not my thing. I have to admit I have a serious dislike of running. I'm just not good at it. Now I've finally realized to do what I love to do instead of trying to fit into something I'm not going to get any enjoyment out of. I have always had an interest in weight lifting and love the look of the fitness/figure athletes. I love how lifting can truly transform your body!!! Of course, I know cardio has its importance as well and for that I will be logging as much time on my rowing machine as I need to.
