I started martial arts at the age of 11, trained for 7 years straight, then went off to college and basically pissed away everything I had done during my training. Came back in 2009 after getting married and having my first child, got my black belt (finally) and a whole new perspective.
I started weight training in 2003 when I was introduced to a boxing gym in NYC, used it to augment my swimming and H2O polo workouts but wasn't serious about it until 2006 when I was hired as a front desk girl at a local gym. Having full time access to the weight room (for free :D )inspired me to actually do some research and learn how to use all of the equipment now available to me. Its been love ever since!
Its such a sense of accomplishment to use my body, make it do what I want, and make it look how I want it to. Plus, I just love being and feeling strong.
