I began in high school as a freshman. I was the biggest fattest kid and also one of the weakest. After my freshman season I vowed to never be the weakest ever again and my journey began. By me senior year I was captain of the team, we went to the playoff for the first time in 10 years, I was pound for pound the strongest in my class and lost 60+ lbs. The thing I am most proud of was accomplishing my goal to get a college scholarship for football. I am currently getting back into the game after several years of mediocrity, I am back with new goals but that same ole "no one can stop me but myself" attitude.
In the last few years I lost my career, car and livelihood. I got really sad and fat to sum it up. But I picked myself up and got back on it. I started by losing another 60lbs and becoming a NASM personal trainer. Then last Jan I tore my achilles tendon and had surgery. I didn't let this set back stop me. I changed the way I train and what looked like a bad thing turned out to be a blessing. My body and attitude was only sharpened by the adversity and I thank God for that!
This has all led me to return to school for my 2nd Bachelor degree of Science in Nutrition with an emphasis in pre-med. I have a long hard road ahead of me, but I am ready for the challenges that lie ahead and excited about the intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth that will come from it!
