I was involved in weight training in my early years. Since then (about 20 years later) I am finding my way back. I put my start day at May 2014, since this the day I am seriously getting back in shape and applying weight training to help. Four years ago I had a low back double fusions. Before that I have had 5 knee surgeries and two foot reconstructions. So I have to take it slow.
After my back surgery I gained around 40 lbs. and totally lost focus on working out. Before that back in 2009, I was actually competing in sprint distance triathlons, 5k's, 10k's, and one mile swim competitions. After 2009 I had my back work done and it went down hill from there. I got fat, got depressed and just lost hope.
I realize now, that life is to short and its now or never in getting myself back in shape. I'm on medications for this and that and want to rid myself from them all. I want to feel strong and have the self confidence to walk in a room with my head held high, knowing I am looking my best.
