I started lifting my freshman year in high school for the powerlifting team. I loved it. I wasn't very strong, nor did I really know where I wanted to take it, but it was something that I enjoyed and I was along for the ride. After my second hip surgery, I decided that I needed to go balls to the walls and get myself back into the tip-top shape I was in before my injury. I've always been active, but it was then that I discovered my love for bodybuilding. I knew I wanted to be the best physically fit person I could be, and I've been pursuing that goal every day since. I focus now on my physique. Rather than trying to push as much weight as I can, I push the right amount that gets me the most pump in my muscles, and ultimately will carve out the perfect physique.
Body Building is an escape. Its my two hours every day that I can put school, work, ROTC, and annoyances to the side. Once I step foot in that gym and plug in my headphones, good luck trying to get a hold of me for anything. My gym time is sacred, and I take it more seriously than I probably should. It's the one place where I can put myself under extreme physical stress and smile the entire way through. Yes, I've been seen actually smiling during sets before haha. It's just one of those things I wouldn't be able to live without- I'm addicted and probably a little crazy.
