I have always wanted the to look like the guys in the fitness and body building magazines. Growing up I was always very thin and couldn't gain a pound no matter how much or what I ate. When I was 20years old I joined the military. While in boot camp I was able to gain some weight. I went from 135lbs. to around 165lbs. I still looked very thin and didn't have the bulky body I wanted to have. I have trained on and off over the years. I would start to see the changes and either get hurt or have life just got in the way of my goals.
Well 20 years have flew by since my boot camp days. I looked at some photos of myself that we're taken lately. I didn't see that skinny kid anymore. I saw a guy that I didn't want to be. I pulled out the scale and stepped on. I couldn't believe it. I was 218lbs!!! I had to make a change now!!! I remember when I got married. I was snorkeling in Maui and I almost lost my wedding ring because it was so loose on my finger. I couldn't get my ring off without now without adding some lotion and pulling very hard. I had to make a change.
Over the next few weeks I ate a little better and working out a few times a week. Then about a month went by and I was feeling good. Then all of a sudden 6 months had passed by and I was back to the old eating habits and not hitting the gym as much. A friend at work said he watched a food documentary and wanted to try a plant base diet. He started making these green shakes and kept telling me to just try it. After about two weeks of seeing him chug the green shakes. I gave one a try. It wasn't that bad. He had dropped about ten pounds in two weeks. I have tried his shakes a few times now. They are ok but I just started cutting down my meals and going to the gym twice a week. I lost about 10lbs and felt much better. My friend and I started going to the gym together. I started logging my workouts on MyBodySpace. On Jan. 30 2013 we both signed up for the 12 week transformation contest together, and now we are on our transformation journey.
