I remember as a kid (probably 14) I tried to bench press 95 lbs at a friends house and I failed. I was the smalled boy in school, and the second smallest kid overall. While that 95 lbs sat glued to my chest because I was too weak to move it off I decided that would never happen again. I wanted to be the strongest I could be from then on.
I remember taking all of my mothers hand weights, tossing them in a blanket, and just doing whatever I could with that. I did pushups until I couldn't do any more every night before I went to bed. I did dips on the stools in the kitchen. It really bothered my parents how dedicated I was to something so foriegn to them, and that I obviously knew next to nothing about but I kept with it.
One thing for sure, fitness is a lifestyle. It is a life long choice that builds character and discipline and makes life more fulfilling. I will never stop.
