I got started bodybuilding when I watched my father workout (and when I realized how easy it was to gain weight after starting college). After noticing my weight gain, I began using the campus gym and haven't looked back. Now I am blessed to have a gym in my NYC apartment...yes in an apartment in NYC. I am also a lady living with fibroids that make me look like I am ready to give birth any moment. Despite knowing I will NEVER achieve a flat stomach, I have decided to forego surgery and live with them since I am in no danger (no pain or excessive bleeding). I believe my life long commitment to fitness is part of the reason for that. Although looking at them can be discouraging, at the same time I am motivated because I know working out gets me pumped up and destroys the discouragement because I focus on other areas of my body, i.e. I love how my legs and arms respond to my workouts. I am hoping to inspire others who have the same condition.
Knowing that I am going to get high (w/o getting in trouble) off of the dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin boost from my workout. Knowing that everyday I commit to fitness pays off now and in the future when I get older.
