I did a little lifting in high school for football and then didn't lift much up untill 4 years ago. I did a good 8 months of lifting then when i was 21 but ate terribly and wasnt really working out properly and wasn't running. in august 2008 untill december i worked out with alot of weight training and running but wasnt eating right again. i dropped down to 245 but plateaued. i've started my current workout regiment in march. i read the ABS diet book which was amazingly helpfull. i didnt follow it to the T but it gave me a great base to start my dieting off of and a good workout routine to quickly gain a lot of muscle all over my body. i followed the abs diet workout (flat bench, military press, shrugs, bicept curls, dips, leg exstensions, leg curls, and squats)every other day untill the end of may. at the begining of june i started a push/pull/legs routine six days a week with 5 min eliptical warmup and 20 min tredmill at the end untill the end of june. then july came and i got drunk went to the beach and acted like a bum. i would go to the gym once maybe twice a week. i started back in the gym mid september after getting settled back into my school routine. I've done 3 days a week for two weeks and am going to try to step it up to 5-6 days a week starting this week.
The runners high i get at the end of a workout is a deffinate factor. seeing the loss of fat, gains in strength and endurance are also big factors. and just the feeling of accomplishment i have when i see the pump i have when im done with my workout.
