How I Started
First let me introduce myself to those who do not know who I am or what I do. My name is Dawn Oâbrien and I am the founder of âDawnâs Heartfelt Cornerâ, which is a Non-Profit Charity. In 2000, I was in a dangerous automobile accident which left me with catastrophic consequences. Being that I almost died in an automobile accident, I had a severe skull fracture and neurological damage to the brain. Brain surgery had to be performed immediately because I was bleeding heavily on the right side of my brain. Now, I reach out to others sharing my testimony of how I survived this horrific car accident through communication in schools, churches, homeless shelters, hospitals, nursing homes, & various places of need. We bring support & encouragement to the disabled, hurting, lonely, neglected, poverty-stricken, troubled teens, men, women, & children of every race.
Are you eating just to eat out of boredom, stressed from your job, finances or the world has you feeling depressed and discouraged. I am a person just like you that at one time I needed help. You and I need to eat when we are hungry. Food was made for our survival not for you and me to be put in bondage by. So many people are in bondage with their eating and exercise goals. If I can help motivate and encourage just one person it puts a smile on my face knowing what God did through me.
WEIGHTLOSS IS A JOURNEY POEM
Weight loss is a journey â tackle it in stages.
Some may get there very quick, whilst others may take ages.
Weight loss is a journey, some take the stopping train,
And they get off at the station, and then get back on again.
While other lucky people seem to travel by express,
With no apparent effort, each week they weigh in less.
For some of us the journey, too often seems uphill.
We never seem to get that far, struggle though we will.
Weight loss is a journey â anyone can go
But as you travel on your way thereâs something you should know.
Losing weightâs a journey that different for everyone,
Some are happy to stroll along while others need to run.
If you want to complete this journey, then forget about the rest.
Each of you must travel the way that suits you best.
As long as you believe it, you WILL get there some day,
And so what does it matter if youâve gone the pretty way?
Weight loss is a journey, that certainly is true,
And each of you must travel in the way that best suits YOU.
Youâll make much better progress if you go at your own pace.

Why I Love it
Being fit and in shape gives me self esteem, makes me feel good about myself. People that exercise have a lot more energy and are able to do more throughout the day without getting tired real easily. You know how that saying goes: you are what you eat and that is so true. We in America are very un-healthy and obese. Our lives are so busy with work, children, school and family. So, what do we grab when we are in a hurry? We go to the nearest drive in restaurant and grab a quick meal that is filled with fat and calories. Exercise is out of the picture because we never have any time. When you do not exercise and are over-weight you become depressed and sick with all kinds of ailments.
