I started in January 2008 - Honestly did not love it - just disciplined myself to go, and said "I only go for the results". I had reasonable results - mainly a big improvement in fitness and a small reshaping of body. In 8 months didn't lose any weight at all, but was fitting into clothes I hadn't fitted into comfortably for a few years. It wasn't until I started asking for help at my local gym that things kicked along. When they reviewed my prog I almost doubled weights overnight - I didn't know you could push harder!(lol). Then had a second review knowing what happened the first time and just about doubled again - this time I was shown how to go to failure (now we're working). They also said they could help with a prog for a 12 week transformation and now I am fired up - now I can actually get this gym membership to dump the fat and get back into shape not just be a bit fitter!
It feels good to feel good...I have a typical westerners approach to diet which includes heaps of trash. I also have an office job. I really don't like feeling fat and I have a body chemistry that will nail me if I'm not careful eg propensity for visceral fat, cholesterol with age, laziness! I can stay further away from potentional health problems when diligent with diet and exercise. You aren't gonna see me on the cover of any magazine ( well my face not just my body solves that! Ha Ha). I'm just a "normal" "real" everyday dude, trying to stay on the leaner and fitter end of town and age without the "usual" lifestyle related issues. Cheers!
