I started out by being just a chubby kid in high school who needed to lose weight. And, in according with my extremist nature, I lost about 50 pounds within two years. After a while I found out that running was a good way to keep me trim so I decided to train for a marathon. Throughout 3-4 months I ran over 80 miles a week without proper stretching and form. I ate really strictly at some points in the day but at other points in the day I would overeat. I needed to change. Unfortunatly, I learned the hard way by spraining both hip flexors and hurt both my knees. During my physical therapy, I started to lift weights and then I REALLY started to lift weights and now I am never going back.
It gives me energy, a hardened look. When I was extremely skinny, I had a flabby midsection and although i looked trim, I did not look healthy. Now, I have muscles, lots of them. People notice, whether it is at the pool or at school people keep on telling me about how incredible it is. I even had a trainer ask if I was on steroids! (He was joking....probably) I love the feeling I have now. When I look in the mirror I see a confident young man instead of a desperate kid who just wanted to be skinny. I love my body and I love my passion. I hope others can learn from parts of my story and I hope that I will always continue to get better and stronger.
