I got started in bodybuilding/working out when I decided I had enough of not taking care of my body. I am an ex-college athlete so I went from working out constantly to nothing! I gained a lot of weight and was unhappy. I decided to move from my hometown to the city so that I could go to school and become a personal trainer. I became a trainer and quickly was on the right path with my fitness journey! I was running in races and competing in Spartan Races, but I still felt a different kind of competitiveness within myself that I wanted to try out. That is when I decided to take the plunge to switch my workouts up and become a physique competitor. I also met my fiance around this time and he was training for a bodybuilding show so it was perfect!
I love bodybuilding for a few reasons....#1 endorphins. Duh! Who doesn't love how they feel when they workout? #2 The gym is home for me. My fiance and I met at the gym, we go to the gym everyday together, and he even proposed to me at the gym we met at!
