I got into bodybuilding while I was in the Army during my tour to Iraq in 2005. I remember walking to the PX connex on our base to buy my first bodybuilding magazine so I could figure out what supplements I was going to take and to find a workout routine.
It was really crazy over there and lifting weights was the only thing to keep my head clear. It was not until after my military career in 2012 that I decided to start competing after meeting an NPC competitor. When I saw him I thought to myself, how will I be able to obtain a physique like this. I remember trying all types of different diets, training routines, and people's advice. It was a struggle, but I found flexible dieting and have been utilizing it ever since. Since then I have also went to school to become a certified personal trainer and nutrition consultant. I originally went to school for the cert to further my knowledge in fitness to improve my physique; however, I have come to enjoy helping others compete as well as obtain their fitness goals.
I love bodybuilding because it is my therapy to relieve stress. It also feeds my hunger and drive for achievement and competition. I love setting goals and accomplishing them. It also keeps life exciting... I never look the same and there is always that next goal to go after. Not to mention I get to look good in the process!
