I could say how I have been active my whole life, but this is not why I continue to pursue a fitness based lifestyle. As a kid I played basketball here and there, when I was actually at a school long enough, and spent a few weeks on the softball team until the team lost funding. My last few years of High School though I was a competitive cheerleader.
When cheer ended and college started I went from training almost 12 hours a week, to sitting at a desk and eating junk. I took Physical Education credit classes each semester in college, but you can only accomplish so much with a 40 minute workout class and a big school load from a degree in Math while still eating junk. When I graduated I had realized it was time to make a change. November 2012 I started my fitness journey and since then I have lost about ~35lbs. I learned how to fall in love with fitness all over again when I began doing it for me and no one else. I crave the energy and exhaustion from workout. I look forward to the part of the day where I get to do something for myself, drown out the busyness from the work and life and be in the moment. Most importantly I do this to prevent future complications. Fitness and health as a whole are very important to me and I am always doing research to gain more knowledgeable in fitness and proper nutrition. Iââ¬â¢m always striving to learn more and understand what I should eat to reach my goals and the workout techniques to help get me there. I want to ensure that I put my best foot forward for my health in the future. Genetic diseases in my family may be preventable with a proper fitness and nutrition regimen, which is hands the number one reason why fitness is most important to me. We only get one life to live; we have to make it the great.
