Like most young men I started working out when I started playing sports around age six or seven, although it was all fun and games to me. I found myself living the feeling of competition. When I started high school, I noticed how all the upper class man were so much more bigger, stronger and faster than me, due to their commitment to the weight room and track. After my Freshman year I became obsessed with fitness often waking up at 5 am, just too get a early start in the weight room and track work. My hard work and dedication got me a football scholarship to the Naval Academy, which lead to a ten year career before I was medically retired due to my injuries I suffered in Iraq. Body building and fitness have become my therapy. Through fitness I've found my love and passion which is why I became a personal trainer, nutritionist and online health coach.
I love working out because it calms me down and helps me tune out the world and all of its many distractions. When I'm in the gym nothing matters and I'm in a safe place. It's the battle of your mind versus your wants, needs, hopes and dreams. A ship is always safe in the harbor but that's not what it was meant for.
