I started to work out with my son, who had a separated shoulder at the time. He plays hockey and needed to keep his legs conditioned so while he was training, I started fooling around in the gym. Next thing I knew I joined myself. I have always been active, figure skated, played hockey, running. And while in the academy for work, had to do 390 push ups in a day. But, within the last year, I have had an injury or three. It has been difficult to run, lift weights. I had rotator cuff surgery and a frozen shoulder to follow. Now I feel fat and flabby. ick.
I love working out because I feel better mentally, and physically. I am often in a better mood, and often feel irritated if I cannot work out. I feel taller, I feel like I have more energy and I rest better at night when I work out. During spring and summer when my son is home for off season training, I can hit the gym with him and have some quality time, which is how I started to workout. My son has been a great inspiration for me. I like working out because it is my time, no one else except for my son. I love that.
