I have always enjoyed sports! In my youth, I was active in cheer leading, basketball, softball, rodeos, ice skating, track, fishing and swimming. I always desired to compete and feel strong and athletic. I wanted to be in the Olympics as a child because I knew those were the best athletes in the world. Although I was engaged in many sports, I had moved to 5 different states over the course of my youth which made it difficult for me to sustain one type of sport. But my family could also tell you, I was entering contests all the time! I didn't know what I would succeed at or enjoy if I didn't try it.
I purchased a book in the early 90's called "Pumping Up" by Ben Weider and Robert Kennedy. It had beautiful photos inside of strong women and I had always wanted that as a goal. I decided to give it a go!
I competed in 2007 in my first show, which I didn't place but was for sure bit by the bodybuilding bug! I won the overall figure at the 2009 NPC Red River Classic, which enabled me to compete nationally.
2010 marked my first year to compete nationally and I did well for my first year! I competed at Junior Nationals, USA's and Nationals. My best placing was at Jr USA's in 2011 which was 10th. I was so proud! Since then, I have found a new love for eating clean, working out every day and loving what I do.
I love to look good, feel good and compete. I feel when I am strong and healthy nothing can get me down or prevent me from achieving my goals. It also makes me more confident in my daily life with work and other challenges. I love the way I feel when I workout and the results are amazing!
