I first began lifting at age 12. I had a father who lifted and I was impressed by him when I was younger. Shoot, I still am now. This is a restart for me. A little over 10 years ago I broke my back. At that time I was very into bodybuilding. I wasn't all that huge, but I was happy with the strength I had. That body was behind me, due to a long layoff from training and the fear of causing injury, but I still maintained a descent knowledge of bodybuilding. I began another transformation this time in April of 2008 and I weighed 246 lbs. I got myself down to 195 while adding a bit of muscle, but after my deployment was over though in June 2009 I really let things go. So now I have decided to push myself once again and see what I can accomplish. My weight had gotten up to 270 in October of 2012. I adjusted my diet and was able to get myself down to around 180 by October 2013, with little to no exercise. There's a bit of proof of how important your diet can be :) So in October 2013 I joined my local gym and began to warm myself back up to the weightlifting lifestyle. In 2015 I won the 200KCHALLENGE; this was a huge thing for me and I haven't slacked a bit since then. My next big goal would be to compete in the Classic Physique category of a bodybuilding competition. I have a ways to go, but I always moving forward!
I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment. Not just watching my body transform, but also to add heavier weight, that I thought at one time would be way too heavy for me to lift, to my exercises and be able to correctly use it. Or that feeling when you look in the mirror and can see noticeable progress. I crave that feeling during and after an intense workout.
