Until 2006 my history with weight had been characterized by a series of large gains and small losses. I had reached a top weight of 420lbs when, in 2006, I achieved my first major victory of over 100lbs dropped in two months. I slowly gained weight again until I reached 380lbs in 2009 when I lost an additional 60lbs. It is now 2013 and I have slowly crept up to a weight of nearly 400lbs again.
I am a size 50 waist and I am 6'5" tall. According to Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis I am more than 50% body fat.
I lived in Oklahoma for the better part of my 27 years. Most of my summers I spent around Winnsboro and Mt. Vernon Texas where I have family. Mid-2012 I moved back home to Winnsboro to go back to school and pursue a new career.
My father carried as much weight as I have now all of his working life. He was forced into disability retirement because of the toll the weight took on his body. I am now experiencing some of the same weight-related symptoms that were a precursor to my fathers life-altering injuries. I have come to realize that if I do not get my weight under control once and for all then my long-term effectiveness in life and ministry will be severely compromised.
