In my late 30s, I had an interest in getting on the police department, so I began training to pass the PFT. I passed, but my application ended at the interview process:( I was satisfied with just getting into shape, but I was left without a goal, so I slowly went back to my old ways. In April of 2012, I was becoming more and more disgusted with how I looked and felt, so I started back on a training program, first working with a personal trainer to get me started and then on my own. I initially lost about 25 pounds, but have gained about 10 back, and I'm on a mission to make a life-long transformation. I'm regularly working out, but my diet is not what it should be -- just can't seem to get beyond feeling deprived. But I'm committed! I would love to be able to enter a competition -- if for nothing else, just to feel comfortable for the first time in my life in a bikini!
I love how I feel physically after working out. I definitely notice if I take more than a couple days off! I get a little crabby. And of course, seeing my biceps muscles is an amazing feeling as well!
